So after a long battle, i finally added XP onto a dual boot with the Windows Developer Preview.  I installed XP after the Developer's Preview.  I ended up having to install easybcd, writing a windows 7 booloader and then making xp the default.  If you need help, let me know on here and i can help you.

Windows developer preview boot from vhd

Just like in windows 7, you can boot the developer's preview from a virtual hard drive(VHD).  This is helpful if you don't want to install it on a hard drive, you can use this and be able to access all functions of the OS.  I will put up a tutorial soon.

EDIT: There are many tutorials online already, so i'm not going to make one.  Just do a simple google search and you can find it.

Windows 7 style Start Menu on Windows Developer Preivew

So you can go back to the windows 7 start menu on windows developer preview by changing the value of HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\RPEnabled to 0.  When this is enabled, it disables all of the metro style apps and start menu.  It is pretty much Windows 7... I haven't seen any differences between the two.  Also, when you have the 7 start menu active, you get a message from microsoft on the desktop saying that you are bound by confidentiality.  Interesting.
